Governor Northam has issued a stay-at-home order for all Virginians. Sec. 1 Paragraph C provides an exception to this rule to travel for the purposes of animal care. As an agricultural business, we have been assured by the State Apiarist that we are authorized to continue with our plans to transport and distribute honeybees on the 25th.
IF you are concerned for your health and do not wish to pickup your bees on the 25th, please CONTACT US immediately so we can plan to care for your bees.
~ ALSO ~
IF YOU DO NOT FEEL WELL, OR ARE EXHIBITING ANY GI OR UPPER AIRWAY INFECTION SYMPTOMS (FEVER, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, COUGH) DO NOT COME TO PICK UP YOUR BEES. PLEASE CALL US TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS.
NUC CUSTOMERS: We can manage your NUCS in our Falls Church Bee Yard. You will need to plan to come get your bees at your earliest convenience. We will open your bee hives and allow the to forage until you arrive.
PACKAGE CUSTOMERS: We cannot keep the bees in their packages for an indefinite amount of time. Packages that are not picked up on the 25th will be transferred to nuc colonies. Your colonies will be managed until you are ready for pickup. Please contact us so that we can plan out the logistics of your colonies.
Here are a few updates and considerations:
Follow us on Facebook for updates. We will continue to update you all via email however updates will also be sent out on our social media platforms.
We will not be offended if you arrive wearing masks and gloves to the pickup site. Please do not be offended if our staff does the same.
There will most likely be updates to the pickup procedures on pickup day to ensure we are in compliance with the current orders and best practices. These updates may include:
~ Scheduled pick up times within the pickup window (especially possible for FALLS CHURCH pickups).
~Restrictions on exiting vehicles and interacting with staff
~Limitations to Nuc transfers (you bringing your own boxes to transfer nucs into). (IF THIS IS YOUR PLAN, PLEASE CONTACT US. This can only be done in our Falls Church location and we will need to get your boxes from you ahead of time).
~Updates to how nuc box returns are handled (more to follow)
